Delicious Gluten Free Recipes



It can be a challenge to find truly delicious, gluten free recipes that satisfy the whole family. It can be difficult to make a 'regular' meal for the family and another meal for those on a gluten free diet.

There are several tips and tricks I have learned over the years to creating delicious meals that everyone can enjoy. There are also some little known tricks to creating perfect, moist gluten free bread that does not crumble and over the next several months I will be posting those tips for you.

I have taken delicious recipes and converted them into amazing gluten free recipe creations the whole family can enjoy. I have created recipes that are suitable for a variety of variations on the gluten free diet including vegan gluten free recipes and vegetarian gluten free recipes. Many individuals who follow a gluten free diet also need to avoid casein or dairy products as well so these recipes appeal to a wide audience.

Gluten Free Mashed Potatoes and Gravy Recipe

8 potatoes chopped

**Do not remove the skin, the potassium'ring' in the potato is found just under the skin and when you remove the skin you remove important nutrients.

Place the potatoes in a stock pot and cover with water. Boil until soft, about 20 minutes. Strain out the water and pour the potatoes into a mixer. Add:

1/4 c. soymilk, almond milk, hemp milk
1 Tb. earth balance (opt)
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper

Mix all ingredients until the potatoes are well creamed to your personal taste.

Gluten Free Gravy Recipe

Serves 3

1 c. purified water
1 Tb. nutritional yeast
2 tsp. tamari
1 tsp. garlic powder
1 tsp. poultry seasoning
1/2 tsp. salt
1 Tb. cornstarch

Add all ingredients, except cornstarch in a saucepan. Bring to a boil. Mix the cornstarch with a little water until dissolved, slowly pour the cornstarch mixture into the boiling gravy while stirring. Continue stirring until gravy thickens.

Gluten Free Onion Rings Recipe

Serves 6

These onion rings are very mild and can be used to top your veggie burgers or they can be eaten alone with fry sauce. These are divine!!

3 leeks sliced

Batter:

1 c. sesame seeds
¼ c. sunflower oil
2 Tb. wheat free soy sauce
½ c. fresh orange juice
1 tsp. salt
¼ tsp. garlic powder
½ tsp. paprika
Dash pepper

Combine all the batter ingredients in a food processor. Process until it forms a thick batter. Pour the batter into a medium bowl. Stir leeks into the batter and massage the leeks in the batter until well coated.

Place leeks on a teflex dehydrator sheet and dehydrate at 110 for 4 hours or until crispy.

**If you do not have a dehydrator put them on a baking sheet and bake at 350 for about 15-20 minutes or until crispy.

Gluten Free Buckwheat Pancake Recipe

2 c. buckwheat groats
1 c. water
1 c. soymilk, rice milk, hemp milk, or almond milk
1/4 c. maple syrup
1/4 c. flaxmeal
2 Tb. hemp seeds
1 1/2 ripe bananas
2 dates
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. cinnamon

Blend all ingredients in a blender until completely creamy. Depending on your blender this may take 3-5 minutes. Cook in a skillet until golden brown.

Gluten free Orange Banana Dreamsicle Breakfast Recipe

Serves 1

1/2 c. cooked millet
1/2 orange sliced
1/2 banana sliced
1/3 c. soymilk, hemp milk, coconut milk or almond milk
1/4 tsp. vanilla
1/8 tsp. orange extract
1 Tb. maple syrup

Combine all ingredients in a bowl.

Gluten Free Tomato Vegetable Bisque Recipe

Absolutely delicious thick soup.

1 onion diced
3 cloves garlic minced
1 c. zucchini diced
3/4 c. celery chopped
3 Tb. vegetable broth
1/4 c. sundried tomatoes chopped
1 c. fresh chopped tomatoes
1 1/2 c. carrot juice
1 14oz. can diced tomatoes with garlic and basil
1 bay leaf
1 tsp. garlic powder
2 tsp. italian seasoning
1 tsp. thyme
2 tsp. parsley
1/2 tsp. salt
2 c. spinach
1/4 c. fresh basil
1 can corn {opt.}
1/2 c. cashews

Sautee onion, garlic, zucchini, celery in vegetable broth until onion is transluscent. Add remaining ingredients except spinach and cashews, simmer for 15 minutes. Remove 2 c. of vegetables. Pour remaining soup in a blender with the cashews and blend until creamy. Pour creamed soup and vegetables back into soup pot, add spinach to soup and simmer until spinach wilts. **Do not fill blender above 1/2 full with hot ingredients, it will bubble over the top and can burn you. Do it in separate batches if necessary.
